My baby turned 15 last month...
a busy day of school and basketball prevented him from
getting his permit ON his birthday..
but we were there bright and early the next day.
It was a cold morning as we arrived to get in line.
(i was taking this picture from my warm car)
My fifth and final time to take a child to get their permit.
...and drove us to Bojangles for a little
...and then home to do some school work.
We always mark the kid's heights on the back of the
laundry room door. Jake is growing like a weed these days.
Kathryn was getting a little worried this time...
she is quickly becoming the shortest in the family.
the hens are working overtime these days...
it appears we have an overachiever !!
Have you ever been to a Dollar Tree??
They often have some real treasures...
I LOVE these adorable Santa mugs!
These three were looking for something to do
and ended up at the Dollar Tree too.
they found some cute Christmas socks
Snow in a Can!
It really looked like snow!
One night over Thanksgiving Break we all went to see the
new Catching Fire movie...
we accidentally left Fox inside...
guess he got hungry while waiting on us to come home...
He knew that he had done something wrong. :-(
We finally had some weather cold enough for a fire.
Jake had a basketball game in Montgomery
and we were so glad that Sarah and John got to come!
I traveled down to Auburn for Kathryn's Birthday. We went
to lunch and did some window shopping...then the girls took
me to their favorite dessert spot! Ice cream sandwiches made
with homemade cookies...yum!
When the kids were small Christmas Card photo sessions were
quite an event...i could RARELY get all 5 kids to stop acting silly and look in the
same direction! Well, now that they are older...the new problem
is just getting them all together. (of course, when they ARE all together,
the silliness is still an issue! but i love that part now)
When i was setting up the tripod and trying to find a good spot..
Jake came with me...such a ham!
Trying to figure out an arrangement for 8 people
who are all basically the same height...
My heart is so full of love for these precious kids!
Can you tell that we are a "house divided" when it comes to football?
I have never been a fan of being all "matchy" but I did tell
them to wear something supporting their favorite team :-)
(Kathryn and Anna were obviously very happy after the big game this year)
We enjoyed Thanksgiving at my parent's house this year.
What a blessing to be together with grandparents, aunts,
uncles, and cousins!
Life is so busy, yet so full, these days.
Sarah is in her 4th year of teaching 3rd grade.
John just started a new job.
Mark Jr. is out working hard and moved into his own place.
Kathryn is a senior in college and doing her student teaching.
Anna is a freshman and is loving the college life.
Jake is a freshman in high school and is now my personal chauffeur!
and I have recently returned to my favorite part time job.
Moving into the Christmas season...
trying to slow down and enjoy the greatest blessing of all
that was given to us...
A Savior is born!
4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
